I know most people will be giving you their top ten books that you should be reading this year, but I’m not really interested in that right now.
Besides, we don’t yet know what 2021 has in store and how many books you’ll actually have time to read.
In light of that, I’m sharing with you the one book that I think is absolutely non-negotiable if you’re a business owner – no matter what kind of business you own!
I’ve always loved reading, although for most of my life it was leisure reading as opposed to personal growth or business books.
And now I just can’t get enough! I’ve read 11 books so far this year (some were amazing and some were just alright).
But only one of them blew my freaking mind, and that’s where I want you to spend your money and a little time this year.
It’s going to have the most massive impact.
Our Fave Business Book of the Year
Let’s cut right to the chase.
The book is Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller. Like I said above, it doesn’t matter what kind of business you run, this book needs to be on your list.
Don will open your eyes up to all the things you’re doing wrong with your brand and how to craft your brand’s story and messaging with care.
You’ll probably smack yourself on the forehead a few times when he calls you out for some pretty obvious mistakes you’re making.
But then also gives you the perfect tool to change it.
Even as a designer and branding expert, I was floored. It’s also why I jumped at the opportunity to be become a StoryBrand Certified Guide which is coming up at the beginning of December.
If you read any business book in the coming year, please let it be this one!
Why This Business Book Was Different
Have you ever been asked a series of really dry questions concerning who your ideal client or avatar is and what color hair they have?
I’ve been asked these types of questions hundreds of time when I’ve hired different contractors to help me, and they are the same questions I’ve asked my clients – until now.
This business book explains how building a brand story makes all the difference and how to take your clients on that journey with you.
